HO CHI MINH CITY TOUR HIGHLIGHT 2022
Ho Chi Minh City Tour to take you go around beautiful city. Do you want to discover the exotic and fascinating side of Ho Chi Minh City? The Ho Chi Minh City Tour is a great choice! The interplay of ancient and modern aspects of this thriving metropolis will lead you from one surprise to another.
HO CHI MINH CITY TOUR INFORMATION.
The surprises begin at what is now known as the War Remnants Museum but which has had more colorful names in the past, as you will no doubt learn during your visit. The museum houses a vast exhibition of items, from fighter planes to photographs, which capture the lessons of war and will leave you with a better understanding of the modern history of this resilient and resourceful nation.
Next stop of Ho Chi Minh City Tour is the Reunification Palace, which also started off with a very different name. You will learn much about what this building represents in Vietnam’s history. Here you’ll find history and drama combined in one visit.
Then it’s time to move our focus to the grandeur of classical French architecture with a visit to Notre Dame Cathedral, built in the 1860’s during French colonial times. Just across the square from the Cathedral, you will find its massive and stately pastel-coloured neighbor – the General Post Office. This is a post office like you have never seen before, a perfect combination of beauty and functionality. The final member of this illustrious trio which we will visit is the Opera House, built in 1897 and now home to the city’s ballet and symphony orchestra. Next door to the Opera House is the French-era Continental Hotel built in 1880 – Vietnam’s first hotel. This is where Graham Greene lived while writing his novel “The Quiet American”.
All of this exploration will have made you hungry by this stage, so we now head off for lunch at a restaurant which will soon solve that problem for you. Then it’s off to Chinatown to take a walking tour through its streets and gain some insights into the local daily life along the way. This area is one of the city highlights – it’s like a visit to China. The delicious food attracts many visitors to Chinatown, either for its restaurants or its street food, all at very reasonable prices.
Finally of Ho Chi Minh City Tour we will pay a visit to the Thien Hau Temple, built in the early 19th Century and dedicated to Thien Hau, the goddess of seafarers. From here we return you to your hotel at the end of a marvelous day of sightseeing.
Of course, there is still plenty more to see here in Saigon (as the locals still refer to their city). For example, if you’re looking for food, drink and entertainment then why not head off to West Street? Lonely Planet says that this is a must-see for visitors. Or perhaps you’d enjoy a dinner cruise on the nearby Mekong?
There are also some short excursions you can take to other fascinating places nearby. Among these, Cu Chi Tunnels is only a 1-hour drive from the City. This is an iconic war memorial park area which also offers the opportunity try your skills with an AK-47 on the shooting range.
And from Cu Chi, another hour will see you at the Cao Dai temple, the remarkable and beautifully ornate showpiece of a religion established in southern Vietnam as recently as 1926. Truly one of the world’s newest and most eclectic religions.
