Me Cung Cave

Me Cung Cave is one of many famous attractions in Halong Bay created by the hand of Mother Nature. Its special feature is the marvelous blue water of Me Cung Lake which is found inside the cave itself.

Me Cung Cave, also known as Maze Cave, is located 25m above sea level on Lom Bo Island, about 2km to the southwest of Titop Beach and Titop Island. It enjoys the total protection of its position within World Natural Heritage of Halong Bay. Me Cung Cave is a complex structure which includes many compartments and a corridor of around 100 metres in length. According to archaeologists, Me Cung Cave belongs to the early Halong culture dating back around 7,000 – 10,000 years ago. Most of the remnants found at the cave’s entrance are Melania shells – a type of periwinkle which only lives in freshwater streams.

Seen from a distance, the cave entrance resembles a house roof carved deeply into the slopes of the island. On entering this magical place, you feel like you are inside the splendid palace of a Persian king. The sparkling stalactites in a myriad of shapes and sizes hang down like multi-colored curtains and transform Me Cung Cave into a shimmering and fanciful paradise.

Dont miss the opportunity to visit Me Cung Cave as part of your Ha Long 2-day cruise.
